considered because it is likely to be the
most significant such process at longer
times; however, other corrosion
mechanisms (such as localized
corrosion) are more likely in the early
period after disposal when temperatures
inside the repository are high. If DOE
determines these processes to be
insignificant within 10,000 years, they
are not likely to be more significant than
