The water content in bio-oil samples obtained from this study was between 14.8% -23.6%.
The water content in bio-oil depends on several factors such as the original water content in the raw materials, the performance of the reactor pyrolysis, heating rate and pyrolysis temperature.
The water content in bio-oil has significant effect on fuel quality.
The higher content of water will cause the bio-oil more difficult to be ignited and hasa low calorific value.
At a temperature of 550oC, the bio-oil produced has the best quality which is the lowest water content(14.8%) and the highest organic content(85.2%).
