Social relationships are another aspect that may play a very important part in defining a person's social characteristics. These may include friends, family and loved ones. Social preferences may also play a role here. For example, some people may tend to prefer the company of men, whilst others may prefer to be with women; some may prefer to mix with people pf their own age group, profession or status, whilst others may prefer more mixed company. Some social relationships may be formalised through belonging to social organisations, for example the Women's Institute or a gentlemen's club.
