I embrace the darkness in me as well as the light. Making disturbing art, writing dark poetry, and listening to heavy music doesn't mean I have a fixation on the negative. It helps me to know that side of myself so I can maintain balance. Without these darker forms of expression, I would probably be much worse off and less pleasant of a person. I like music and art of many genres though. I embrace my negative emotions. I choose to feel them deeply so I can understand the lesson at hand. Then I let them go. Forced positivity can lead to a build-up of those ignored negative emotions. They will always resurface unless dealt with properly.
