This research investigated growth of algae from different natural sources to compare the growth rate of algae and studied the possibility to produce natural oils from algae. the study use water from pond in front of Faculty of Engineering Kasetsart University, pond opposite Faculty of Engineering Kasetsart University and pond in front of store in Faculty of Engineering Kasetsart University. we use Tris-Acetate-Phosphate medium and Tris-Acetate-Phosphate agar medium as source of nutrient. To study the growth rate of algae by Optical Density and explore the fatty acid of algae form Fluorescent St. 100x. The study found that a algae from pond in front of store in Faculty of Engineering Kasetsart University showed the maximum yellow fatty acid (Compared to a survey conducted by the naked eye) and found that a algae (7th colonie) pond in front of store in Faculty of Engineering Kasetsart University has highest growth rate of 1.53 g/L .This research can serve as a guide for the cultivation of algae for oil production to replace petroleum-based energy is another alternative of renewable energy production in the future.
