SODIUM CHLORIDE OR COMMON SALT
Sodium Chloride Halite is the predominant
compound in seawater .Halite is the mineral form of
common salt from a class of chemical compounds called
salts. Salt is required in the manufacture of chemicals such
as sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), sodium hydroxide
(caustic soda), hydrochloric acid, and chlorine chemicals in
chemical industry. Salt is widely used as a seasoning for
foods and is
used in curing meats and preserving fish and other foods and
for water softeners that removes calcium and magnesium
compound from water.
