Dear Buffalo,
I purchased a Buffalo HD rugged extreme hard drive a little over a year ago. I"m an American journalist who is temporarily based around the world at different times. I purchased it at a mall in Bangkok, and I am currently in Tokyo.
The hard drive failed and said it couldnt be repaired about 6 months ago. (After I ran Disk Utility on it). It advised that I wipe everything, reformat, and I'd be good to go. I did that. And ... slightly wearily started using it again. It's been fine until now again, when it started telling me the same thing. I take care of it, but I do travel a lot for work. I use it to backup really important files... but it's not at all reliable. I have an extra backup of some files stashed with family at home. But.... I bought this hard drive ... so that I could use it. And I've never had another portable drive fail like this on me even once.
As I've moved a lot, I don't have the packaging, but I can easily send you all the info from the side of the hard drive or a photo I took of it.
Please advise what to do.
Thank you,
