Kosa dusts are transported to the Pacific Ocean passing through Korea and Japan and lead to significant environmental change in East Asia. Although S was not detected in original Kosa dusts [8] collected directly at desert and loess areas in China,most of the individual particles shown in Fig. 1 contained sulfur. It suggests that most of the aerosol particles have absorbed or condensed the sulfur dioxide gas molecules or sulfuric acid on their surface during transportation.
