2. I would compare Thai traditional dance to Kabuki, a form of traditional Japanese drama.I see both of these do have something in common, such as elaborate costumes, movements and makeup styles but they are different. Thai dances are more formal if you compare to Kabuki, the movements in Thai dance are strictly formed but in Kabuki the movements would depends on how will the actors represent the characters itself on stage. In Thai dance both men and women will be performing the dance but for Kabuki only men were allowed to perform, including the female roles. Kabuki actors are all trained in variousskills including dancing, singing, acting and even acrobatics. The costumes of Thai dance would be differentiating by its region and Kabuki costumes are depending on the characters and the storythat is being told. Onstage performances Thai dance would have only one costume, while Kabuki would be wearing many layers of costumes and do an instant costume change onstage in front of the audiences. Both Thai dance and Kabuki focus on its performances, but Kabuki also focus on its stage and scenery. Kabuki has several unique stage installations such as the revolving stage; this makes it more realistic atmosphere and the hanamichi path, which is a stage that is extended to the audiences’ seats, to make the audiences and the actors closed together. Different country have different culture, so they have their own unique of beauty.
