The analysis resulted in five categories (Table 3) that describes
the safety culture and reasons for risk-taking, and how they were perceived and experienced by employees at a large steel-manufacturing
company. The categories were acceptance of risks, individual
responsibility for safety, trade-off between productivity and safety,
importance of communication, and state-of-the-day and external conditions.
The five categories were in turn based on sixteen subcategories.
The categories and subcategories are presented in the
following text.
