What is stress?
Stress is a condition that is often characterized by symptoms of physical or emotional tension. It is a reaction to a situation where a person feels threatened or anxious. Stress can be positive (preparing for a wedding) or negative (dealing with a natural disaster).
What Causes Stress?
Many different things can cause stress -- from physical (such as fear of something dangerous) to emotional (such as worry over your family or job.)
How Does Stress Affect You?
Stress can affect both your body and your mind. People under large amounts of stress can become tired, sick, and unable to concentrate or think clearly. Sometimes, they even suffer mental breakdowns.
Feeling emotional and nervous or having trouble sleeping and eating can all be normal reactions to stress. Engaging in healthy activities and getting the right care and support can put problems in perspective and help stressful feelings subside in a few days or weeks.
For this topic I can use these ways to coping with stress and I hope that it’ll beneficial to you, though.
Some tips for me to feel better are:
• Take care of myself.
o Eat healthy, well-balanced meals
o Exercise on a regular basis
o Get plenty of sleep
o Give myself a break if I feel stressed out
• Talk to others. Share my problems and how I am feeling and coping with a parent, friend, counselor, doctor, or pastor.
• And the most important, I’m smiling and talking to myself in the front of mirror when I’ve stressed.
Recognize when you need more help. If problems continue or you are thinking about suicide, talk to a psychologist, social worker, or professional counselor.
