Both total station and RTK network facilities were used to survey topographical changes annually between 1995 and 2010 and a total of 15 surveys were available for analysis. Each survey was directly
referenced to the British Coordinate System. The output data was subsequently imported into Surfer 9® a full-function 3D visualization, contouring and surface modelling programme. Using its sophisticated
interpolation engine the XYZ data. Contours were drawn and digitised along the MHWL position (3.0 m AOD) and the outturn data was also referenced to the British coordinate system. Both historic and annual shoreline data was subsequently imported into the Regional Morphology Analysis Programme
(RMAP), from which the cumulative and inter-survey change rates were computed based upon a baseline positioned within the dune system.
