Again, the improved fuel efficiency provides
benefits both in reduced costs for the operator and
reduced CO2 emissions for the environment.
In total, 669 vehicles were fitted with airflow
management equipment. The recorded
improvements in fuel efficiency by vehicle type,
due to this equipment, ranged from 3% to over
22%. For example, for articulated vehicles over
40 tonnes the difference was 0.51 km/litre or
14.5% between vehicles with and without
aerodynamic equipment
