Waste avoidance is at the top of the waste management hierarchy. However, in many cases, a low priority has been given to waste avoidance when developing waste strategies. Strategic waste avoidance policy requires a multidisciplinary approach and a multi-stakeholder commitment. From the individual level to the local government and production industry level, avoidance techniques should be adapted and integrated. Experts were asked whether or not people's current busy lifestyles and individual willingness to implement avoidance practices play a significant role in overall waste avoidance. They were also asked to what extent they agree or disagree on the implementation of cradle-to-cradle design and local government production policy to enhance cradle-to-cradle design. Fig. 8 shows the frequency of their agree/disagree responses to waste avoidance statements.
