Dilute acid pre-treatments at moderate temperatures free
hemicellulose and cellulose (Knappert et al., 1981) and disrupt
lignin, thereby releasing cellulose for enzymatic reactions (Yang
and Wyman, 2004). In this study 0.8 M, 1.4 M, and 1.6 M H2SO4
solutions were used for pre-treatment of lignocellulosic biomass.
