Researchers have shown in rodents and in vitro that the absorption of
vitamin D decreased by ezetimibe and increased with the overexpres-
sion of NPC1L1, scavenger receptor class B type I (SR-BI) and cluster of
differentiation 36 (CD36) cholesterol transporters [15].
Identifying vitamin D membrane transporters and inter-individual
differences in their expression is a great challenge. So, the aim of this
study was to evaluate the effect of ezetimibe on vitamin D absorption
in young healthy people.
