Phase 3: Processing & Analysis There are several GIS layers were used in order to derive the feasible location to place the solar photovoltaic. The primary data was the LiDAR elevation data. For better visualization of the study area, an orthophoto image was generated from the aerial triangulation survey and processed using the SocetSet software. Building layer, solar radiation Map, Aspect map, and Slope map was extract from the LiDAR Digital Surface Model (DSM). Human Mask is the output of area digitized from the Google Earth, using the knowledge of area, maps and visual inspection to eliminate the undesirable sites e.g. area located outside of president’s house, athletic stadium seats, roof with pipes, air conditioning units, etc. Using the ArcGIS ModelBuilder, masks were generated to select location that have the desirable characteristics and met the criteria. Accuracy of the LIDAR data is ± 0.3m horizontal and ± 0.15m vertical. A smoother the raster image was generated using a low pass filter to facilitate the analysis of the final output.
