The person identified that is ultimately responsible for ensuring that the Problem is permanently addressed. This needs to be a specific person (not a group) who will be the Single Point of Contact for the Problem. The Problem Owner may change throughout the life cycle of the problem record, with one initially determining the root cause and what the action plan to address the issue is and then it changing to the specific person responsible for implementing the action plan. In addition, throughout the process of determining root cause it may be necessary to change owners, which can be done with the consent of the new owner.
