90-year-old NYC abstract painter Joseph Stefanelli found after walking out of NYU Medical Center

Joseph Stefanelli, a member of New York, school of Abstract Expressionism,
Disappeared after leaving a hospital visit with his wife, police said.
A famous New York City painter missing since Saturday was found alive and well Monday, Police said,
Joseph Stefanelli. 90 , one of the last surviving members of the New York school of Abstract Expressionism, disappeared Saturday at New York University Medical Center of First Ave. in Midtown.
The renowned painter may have been visiting his wife at the hospital. Police said,
Born in Philadelphia, Stefanelli served as a combat artist during world War II.
He settled in New York City in the late 1940s as Abstract Expressionism was emerging as the pre-eminent style of painting.
Stefanelli. Who for years painted out of a studio on the Lower East Side, has won numerous awards for his work.
