I can’t get away from it (the cancer). Because I get reminded of it
every time I go to sit down and it all hurts. (Patient 9)
Patients were worried about getting new tumours and were
therefore agonised and worried before return visits to the
hospital. Those feelings were replaced by feelings of relief and
hope if there were no signs of a new tumour. There were
patients that believed talking would make no difference.
However, one patient expressed feelings of loneliness,
because she experienced it taboo to talk about the cancer
with her partner.
