User stories are a planning technique that enables agile teams to track features of value to a customer or end user, and are used as a basis for estimating work. Typically, they are one or more sentences written by the customers, product owners, or business analysts that describe something of value to a stakeholder. User stories provide a mechanism for the product owner to scope, coordinate, and prioritize the increments of user value for development. A story should be short enough to be written on a small paper note card, usually a 3×5 inch index card or sticky note. Stories may also be recorded in an electronic system
