Many PSI phenomena turn out to be explicable by rather mundane explanations. But once in a while you stumble upon something that simply can not be explained away as an optical illusion. The "Oregon Vortex" seems to be one of those exceptions.
The Oregon Vortex is located close to Gold Hill in the state of Oregon (USA). It has a diameter of about 55 meters and combines a couple of unusual phenomena in one location one of which is the "Mystery House" which - due to its sloped construction at least includes elements of optical illusion. This is the reason why this article only focuses on one particular phenomena of the Oregon Vortex, that is really strange :
At the Oregon Vortex several level rods have been put up with a distance of about 3 meters between them. One of the level rods is within the vortex the other outside of it. The claim is, that people who stand next to the left rod appear taller than when they stand in front of the right rod. There seems to be more to this effect than just an optical illusion since it has been subject to scienfic measurements (see further down in this article).
