Nano-size particles of barium hexaferrite have been synthesized
at a relatively low temperature by the sol–gel combustion
method using a gel including citric acid as a fuel
and metal nitrates as a reductant. The combustion rate is associated
with the molar ratio of nitrates to citric acid and
its rate is must vigorous and rapid for the gel with MN/CA
molar ratio of 3. The formation temperature of barium hexaferrite
was decreased on increasing the citric acid contents
in the starting solution. Single phase barium hexaferrite wasThe financial support of this work by Research Council
