Of the 42 companies that were initially contacted, 5 either declined or
did not return the questionnaires. In total, 1400 individual questionnaires
were distributed to individual employees, and 936 were collected, representing
a response rate of 66.9 percent. The response rate, however, seems
to depend largely upon the behavior or willingness of the distributor in each
company as well as the individual samples because the number of responses varied greatly (ranging from 11 to 32) across companies even though an
almost equivalent number of questionnaires was delivered to each company.
