In the present paper closed form solutions were obtained for the power losses and axial loads on the pulleys of a rubber V-belt
CVT transmission with reference to stationary conditions. The model was based on some simple hypotheses in order to obtain
analytical relationships, giving the dependence of losses from the main design parameters and, from this point of view, is
completely new for the technical literature. The analytical relationships are based on the knowledge of the net belt tensions on
the tight and on the slack side, respectively.
