Cultural variance is a major challenge for global corporations. Developing a positive, effective work culture can be challenging enough in your home country. Getting workers to think globally when their values differ from the values of colleagues in other countries is even harder. In the U.S., for instance, some workplaces cultivate individual creativity and autonomy, whereas group collaboration and consensus building are the norm in some Asian workplaces. Global corporations can overcome these barriers and create an integrated corporate culture by focusing on a few shared interests.
