The Queens College Civil rights archive of the department of special collections partnered with the queens college graduate school of library and information studies to create a pilot web presentation using the open-source Omeke platform. Phase l of the project,conducted during the spring 2010 semester, outlined a method for institutional of limited means to enter into the world of digitization using existing resources while highlighting the difficulties involved with metadata and IT support, and the advantages of involving graduate students.
