Message from Top Management
The situation surrounding management in the industry is now dramatically changing
due to such factors as globalization of corporate activities, heightening awareness of
the environment, development of the enhanced information network society, and
tighter monitoring of corporate management by shareholders and consumers. In this
context, the recent succession of corporate scandals and continuing failure of
institutions have called more emphatically than ever for concern over the social
responsibility of business enterprises. Enterprises are essentially expected behave
not only with transparency and fairness from the viewpoint of global management,
but also to provide an active social service program as “corporate citizens.”
We have two management policies: First, “Work hard to be a forward-looking
organization by staying on the cutting edge,” and second, “Be a respected member of
the world community.” These two maxims aim altogether at creating an advanced
company which, always adapting sensitively to the changing currents of the times,
focuses on global business development with technologically superior products. If
viewed from the above-mentioned standpoint of corporate social responsibility, they are
interpreted as: “We have to ensure further development of corporate soundness and
harmonization with the international community, by managing business so that we
respond agilely to the above-mentioned changes in the corporate environment, and
fully consider the interests of the company's stakeholders.”
In order to survive an age of grand and fierce competition, it is an essential prerequisite
that the company, together with its every person involved, respect the interests of such
stakeholders as consumers, stockholders, customers, suppliers and communities. We
must also go about our business with a high sense of ethics and mission, and conduct it
properly as businesspeople and citizens, in addition to, of course, providing consumers
with excellent products and services of high safety and quality and advanced technology.
Thus, we must behave according to our conscience, comply not only with laws and
regulations but also with internal corporate rules, social norms and corporate ethics, and
conduct business activities in a sound, transparent and fair manner, thereby achieving
our social missions. Our corporate idea of “Compliance-oriented Management” is realized
by providing products and services of high quality and responding to social demands and
expectations through proactive social services, in addition to compliance with laws and
regulations.

We, the top management of the Company, hereby declare that all members of the staff
of the Company, including those of our affiliated companies, will perform our business
