opening of the vegetative pouch of the mother frond (Fig. 2b and
c). Over time, the youngest daughter (IId) also occupies the same
position as the eldest daughter (IIa) at presentfrom where it will be
released to the exterior. Hence during the course of development
of a daughter frond starting from a primordium to its release from the vegetative pouch, it undergoes a 180◦ shift in its axis (Fig. 2b
and c).
