Supervises, establishes priorities, and controls the cannery maintenance functions of assigned shift
Assists in planning and scheduling of the repair and maintenance of cannery machinery and equipment
Supervises day-to-day preventive maintenance as well as emergency repair work by determining maintenance and repair needs, conducting equipment inspection, or by requests from supervisor
Analyzes and locates causes of machinery malfunctions or breakdowns; determines the nature and extent of repair work to be done; and directs and expedites repairs by mechanics to keep downtime at minimal levels
Supervises periodic repairs and overhauling of equipment to ensure that work progresses in accordance with planned schedules and deadlines
Supervises the installation of new or additional mechanical equipment; and coordinates with other departments for their smooth operation
Provides technical instructions and guidance to subordinates in repair and maintenance work and strict compliance to equipment Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Supervises and coordinates the Preventive Maintenance Program in terms mechanical concepts, lubrication and periodic inspection
Assigns lower position level in the organizational chart to be deputy to handle duties and responsibilities in case of his/her absence
Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the maintenance and work areas
Promotes cost reduction and establishes cost control in maintenance
Ensures safe work conditions in all areas of responsibility, promotes safety consciousness among subordinates, and enforces safety rules and regulations
Participates actively in the company’s Continuous Improvement Programs; and leads and directs activities related to improvements as needed.
