Social Skills Activities for Secondary Students with Special Needs is a collection of lessons and d sign, to help secondary students with exceptionalities learn to improve their relationships with others. The lessons and activities in Part One teach children basic social skills in three main areas: skills for making a good impression, skills for self-improvement, and skills for being around other people. These lessons center around helping students see themselves as others see them, and make adjustments to “fit in”; improve themselves by learning skills to boost their self-esteem; and get along well with other people. The activities in Part Two give students the opportunity to practice using these skills in a variety
of settings: Home, school, work, among peers, and in the community,
