The above findings suggest that the disease burden in rural Nepal surrounding Kirnetar Health Centre is not only high but the health needs are also unmet. The main complaints were pain and discomfort in abdomen, back, limbs and head. Apart from that, there were also significant number of problems related to visual acuity, ear pain and discharge and sore throat. Internal medicine was the most frequented faculty followed by gynaecology and obstetrics and rehabilitative medicine, which is in concordance with the presenting complaints of the participants of the health camp. The most common prescriptions were H2 receptor antagonists like ranitidine and cimetidine followed by analgesics such as ibuprofen and aceclofenac and multivitamin tablets.
