Despite all these problems, the literature reveals a
significant lack of research on HRM and its policies and
practices implementation in the Saudi context. Additionally,
no research has been conducted in the Saudi hotel sector to
examine the application of HRM practices, and the perception
of Saudi employees toward those practices. Thus, this research
plays an important role in gaining a more in-depth
understanding of HRM practices in the Saudi hotel sector. In
the next section of this paper, the research problem is
defined within the context of existing literature. The areas
discussed are international HRM, and HRM in Saudi
Arabia.
