4.3.1. Retweeting for others.
While some users retweet content of general interest, others are more concerned about the audience to whom they are retweeting (e.g., @viller: most often when I see a link from someone that I think is interesting to ppl who follow me ie. close(ish) ties). In choosing what to retweet, these participants often think explicitly about who follows their tweets. Though Twitter users can access a list of who follows them, this is not necessarily their actual audience. As such, participants must contend with an imagined audience, just as they do when using other social media [2].
