Sellers: New features now available let you customize returns your way
Available now to all eBay sellers, the new, more flexible returns features announced in our Fall Seller Update allow you to customize the way you handle return requests based on your business needs. With the busy holiday season right around the corner, it’s a good time to review your current policies and update your preferences now to attract more buyers and use returns to your advantage.
Available through your returns preferences and policy, these new customization features let sellers virtually automate the entire returns process to expedite returns and refunds—or approve specific returns requests manually, such as for high-value items or items in certain categories. Other features include more flexible return-shipping-label options, the ability to report issues with your buyer after a return is closed–and more.
Remember, whether you previously handled returns manually or approved them automatically through hassle-free returns, your settings—and current level of automation—will not change. Your settings only change when you take action to add or update how you want to handle returns through your preferences and/or your policy.
You can find out all about these new features—and how your returns will be affected by the updates to seller standards starting February 20, 2016—by checking out the Fall Seller Update.
And if you’re interested in being considered for the fall pilot program designed to give you more options when handling “not as described” return requests (mentioned by eBay’s Head of Seller Experience, Jordan Sweetnam, in his September 10 blog post), we invite you to sign up here.
