Nakorn Si Thammarat Museum started when one of the departments of the Fine Arts Department, which is responsible of taking care of the ancient remains in the northern south area, restored the chedi in Amphur Muang, Nakorn Si Thammarat in year 1964. During the period 1966-1967, the department received many ancient remains but have no place to keep including the ancient remains that were excavated at Nakorn Si Thammarat, Choomporn, Suratthani, Ranong, Pang-nga, Krabi and Phuket.
It is opened daily from Wednesday to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, contact 0-7534-1075 with THB 30 fee for Thai people and THB 150 fee for foreigners.
