Fresh rosemary was obtained from a local market. The best branches were selected and the damaged leaves were
removed. It was washed in flowing water and its roots were removed. The rosemary then underwent the lyophilization
process (Liotop L101, Liobras Ltda, São Carlos, São Paulo, Brazil). The lyophilized material was stored in plastic bottles
at room temperature and shielded from light until the time of extraction
