The variation of cut-in wind speed with tangential force shows
in Figure 6. Cut in wind speed was 1.5 m/s at tangential force of 20 N/m2 of swept area and increases
to 6.1 m/s at tangential force of 500 N/m2 of swept area. Whereas the swept area is an area through
which the rotor blades of a wind turbine spin. Eqn. 6 had shown that at no load at the pulley the cut in
wind speed is 1.2778 m/s. It refers to force from the wind to overcome the friction force of the
