2.2. Concentration and yield of cans scrap
The amounts of tested Al particles and identified cans particles
are shown in Table 3, where the absolute sampling error is estimated
as the square root of the total number of identified cans particles.
Since the number of cans particles turned out relatively
small the sampling error is rather large and runs from 20% for
the smallest size fractions up to 50% for the largest size fractions.
As expected from the original can size the +40 mmbottom ash contains
relatively few cans scraps. We note that to achieve an
improvement of the sampling error by a factor two will require a
four times bigger bottom ash sample for the analysis.
