products specified to demonstrate aesthetic effects, where
applicable, and qualities of materials and execution. Build mockups
to comply with the following requirements, using materials indicated
for completed Work :
7.3.5.1 Locate mockups in the location indicated or, if not indicated,
as directed by Architect.
7.3.5.2 Extent of Mockups : Approximately 100 sq. ft. (9.3 sq.m.) of
surface for each product indicated.
7.3.5.3 Notify Architect 7 days in advance of the dates and times when
mockups will be constructed.
7.3.5.4 Demonstrate the proposed range of aesthetic effects and
workmanship, including patching.
7.3.5.5 Obtain Architect’s approval of mockups before starting
application of product.
7.3.5.6 Maintain mockups during construction in an undisturbed
condition as a standard for judging the completed Work.
When directed, demolish and remove mockups from Project site.
7.4 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
7.4.1 Deliver products to Project site in original, unopened packages with
intact and legible manufacturers’ labels indentifying product and
manufacturer; date of manufacture; shelf life, if applicable; and
fire-resistance ratings applicable to Project.
7.4.2 Use materials with limited shelf life within within period
indicated. Remove from Project site and discard materials whose
shelf life has expired.
7.4.3 Store materials inside, under cover, aboveground, so they are kept
dry until ready for use. Remove from Project site and discard
materials that have deteriorated.
7.5 PROJECT CONDITIONS
7.5.1 Environmental Limitations : Do not apply sprayed fire-resistive
material when ambient or substrate temperatures are 40 deg F (4 deg
C) or lower, unless temporary protection and heat is provided to
maintain temperatures at or above this level for 24 hours before,
during, and for 24 hours after product application.
7.5.2 Ventilation : Ventilate building spaces during and after
application of sprayed fire-resistive material. Use natural means
