The honeycomb fabric with the elastic yarns as wefts has higher fabric strength in the warp direction compared to the fabric without the elastic weft yarns. The honeycomb fabric can be stretched about two times longer than its original length in the weft direction due to the elastic yarns and the honeycomb 3D structure, while the plain fabric cannot reach this outcome. Therefore, based on the experimental results for properties of honeycomb woven fabrics, the honeycomb weaves are more suitable for clothing in the light of comfort for lower thermal conductivity, higher air permeability and water absorption. In addition, this unique fabric structure is more attractive and promising for investigations in application fields such as agriculture, soil erosion and biomedicine.
