However, most marine ornamentals, in fact
over 90%, are from wild-caught fisheries (Wabnitz et al., 2003),
because this appears to be cheaper than rearing fish. Therefore, it
seems that production by aquaculture still cannot replace the wild
collection of marine ornamental fish (Tlusty, 2002
