A. Tests of Telcordia Standards Reliability tests based on Telcordia standards GR-1209- CORE and GR-1221-CORE, which are designed to certify passive optical components, were performed on eleven optical splitter modules to confirm their short- and long-term stability. TablesIIandIIIshowtheGR-1209-COREandGR-1221-CORE test results, respectively. The maximum loss increases after the tests for a single input and eight outputs were less than approx- imately 0.1 dB compared with the failure criterion of 0.5 dB recommended in GR-1221-CORE. These results indicate that the stability of the modules is sufficient to withstand thermal and moisture stressesin thefield, which are meant to ensure the reliability of a product while in use for optical equipment and network applications.
