Hello all,
I currently use vivado 2014.x on W7 at work. I find in GUI mode i get a significant memory leak during the transitions from synthesis to implementation. This means the whole system crashes at arround 70~80% of the pathetic 4GB ram machine.
The build only utilizes 3% Logic with 70% (based on KC325T900)
My solution at work is to do the entire build through a tcl script that runs vivado in tcl mode...this way i barely touch the PC's RAM.
Now the reason I'm posting in this forum is because over this festive period I'll be trialing windows 10 on my personal laptop & I'm keen to see if vivado 2014.x runs smoothly.
What licensing recommendations are there for my laptop? I have/had an evaluation license on my desktop. How can i par take in a beta/trail implementation of xilinx tools? Note I'd like to be able to synth-impl-program on a kc705 dev board (which is not availble for selection in the web license). Also it's in the transition synth-impl stages where the memory leak kicks in & i'm keen to see how w10 handles a process that'll surely demand too much of my weak aspire 1810tz laptop.
Lets face it...Business is going to move to W10 & not touch W8, therefore it's in Xilinx interest to get the W10 implementation of Vivado working.
Regards,
Wes
