A 22-year-old man was sentenced to one year in jail on Tuesday for spray-painting anarchy symbols on the front of the Criminal Court on Ratchadapisek Road on May 24.
Natthapol Khemngern, a former university student, was caught on security camera footage spray-painting the anarchy symbol, a black circle around the letter "A", before and after the words "Criminal Court" on the nameplate outside the building.
He was arrested on May 25 by Phahon Yothin police in Nonthaburi's Pak Kret district.
The Criminal Court found him guilty of violating Section 360 of the Criminal Code and the Cleanliness Act and initially sentenced him to two years in prison.
The sentence was commuted to one year's imprisonment, without suspension, because he confessed to the charges.
