Clan control
Clan control mechanism of empowerment is empowering an organization’s employees to meet performance standards (Bateman & Snell, 2009, p602). Clan control is the corporate culture, beliefs, values, and the informal relationships within an organization. Clan controls the employee’s behavior as well as makes it easier to reach the organizational goals within Starbucks. The company values may be reflected in the Starbucks Mission Statement. “To inspire and nurture the human spirit-one person, one cup, and one neighborhood at a time” (Starbucks, 2009, p.5).
