Facsimile
It is a electronic telecommunication system that transmits scanned documents from one terminal device to other. It is also called as telefax or telecopying. It is capable of sending both text and image documents. When document is scanned FAX converts it into its corresponding bitmap and sends it to the other terminal FAX through telephone line. The receiving FAX converts the coded image and starts printing it on the paper. Due to wide use of internet email facilities, use of FAX is limiting globally. Alexander Bain invented it in 1846
