students learn through different learning styles. what is meant by learning style?
Essentially, learning style can be viewed as the way an individual begins to process, internalize,
and concentrate on new materials. Every person learns in a unique way, they have different
learning channels. Some will be auditory learners, those who learn best by hearing; others will be
visual learners, those who learn best by seeing or reading; and some will be physical learners,
those who learn best through the manipulation of concrete materials (Shaughnessy, 1998). Some
students will learn slowly; some rather quickly. Some will need substantial teacher assistance;
others will be able to learn on their own. Most students will use each of these styles at one time
or another. However, most will favor one style over others.
