Ref. 5 contains data for the lateral-directional
dynamics of a generic, highly maneuverable aircraft at
Mach 0.6, 35,000 ft altitude. At this flight condition,
the aircraft dynamics exhibit several objectionable
characteristics including low dutch-roll damping and
slow roll response. Ref. 5 also develops a preliminary
controller, designed with the new framework, to correct
these deficiencies. Data associated with the closed-loop
pole migration behavior is listed in Tab. 1. The roots
0.0048, -0.43 and -0.059kj2.9 l/s in Q(s) denote the
aircraft spiral, roll and dutch-roll modes. For the ~ ( s )
polynomial, roots 0 and -0.028 Us are aircraft
transmission zeros. The compensator is static and does
not contribute any roots to these polynomials
