There was an interaction (P = 0.029) between CF content and particle size for the amount of feed consumed per kg lean gain. Animals on the high fibre finely ground feed consumed the lowest amount of feed per kg lean gain, while those on the high fibre coarsely ground feed consumed the highest amount among the four groups. Similarly, animals on the high fibre coarsely ground diet consumed more feed per kg carcass gain than the pigs on the other three diets.
